James P. Joseph heads the Joseph Law Group, P.C., a firm devoted exclusively to the practice of matrimonial and family law.

Mr. Joseph is a well respected member of the matrimonial bar and has been practicing law since 1994. He serves as a Special Master on the Unified Court System’s Matrimonial Special Masters Panel in Nassau County and is frequently appointed a lead arbitrator for the Fee Arbitration Program of the NYS Office of Court Administration. He has served as a mediator for matrimonial actions in the Early Neutral Evaluation Program in Nassau County.

Mr. Joseph has been recognized by both the Super Lawyers rating service with the title “Super Lawyer” and by the Ten Leaders Cooperative as “One of Ten Leading Long Island divorce attorneys”. He has received the “AV” rating from Martindale Hubble, its highest rating. While Mr. Joseph’s firm continues to handle most matters through litigation, he and his firm are keenly aware of the significant damage often inflicted upon the family when the marriage is dissolved through that method. As such, and after gaining a full understanding of, and extensive training in the collaborative method, he has become one of its biggest proponents on Long Island.
